Corey Bacon is a highly accomplished high performance triathlon coach with a wealth of experience across elite sports performance and team leadership. Corey began his coaching journey with the Tuggeranong Vikings Triathlon Club back in the early 90s, where he initially focused on swimming and general coaching for the club.
With a background that includes serving as Head Coach for Triathlon Australia’s Paralympic Team, Corey guided his athletes to a remarkable gold medal victory at the Rio Paralympics in 2016. This was in addition to the many age group podiums achieved on the world stage at all levels and distances. Corey has been a member of the local triathlon community for over 25 years and has represented Australia on numerous occasions at Olympic and middle distance triathlons.
Corey brings a deep passion for multisport and an unwavering commitment to helping athletes of all levels achieve their personal best. Corey founded one of Canberra’s premier clubs, Performance Triathlon Coaching, which became a cornerstone for developing world, national and state champions. Corey has also been a driving force in junior development, nurturing many young athletes to the world stage.
As a leader in the triathlon space, Corey continues to share his knowledge and passion with the Vikings Triathlon Club and the triathlon community. Whether working with beginners taking on their first race or seasoned competitors chasing podium finishes, Corey is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive training environment. His guidance not only focuses on athletic performance but also on building a lifelong love for the sport of triathlon.
