ACT Swim Run Championships
The final ACT swim run of the series at Black Mountain doubled as the ACT Championships, and every Viking who raced came away with a medal! It was a perfect day for it, too.
Vikings raid Batemans Bay
Countless Vikings headed to the coast for the Elite Energy Batemans Bay Triathlon at Tomakin. It was very hot and humid, but everyone did extremely well and there were loads of podium finishes. Special shout-out to Coach Luke, who won the standard aquabike outright!
Yass women’s triathlon
The next day was the women-only “Finish lines not finish times” triathlon in Yass. Relative newcomer Charlotte raced both triathlons on consecutive days, finishing second at Yass. We had to talk her out of parkrun as well!
Australian Alpine Ascent
Adrian and Kerrie both took on the tough 27 km Alpine Ascent run. James Carter took on the associated AAAX triathlon, getting through the 180 km bike course with 3,500 m of climbing in 8 hours 35 minutes before being pulled from the run on cut-off times. Only 20 of the 48 starters finished. They don’t call it extreme for nothing!
Thank you also to Mel, who spent the Christmas break sorting out the club storage unit. We now have a full stocktake of club gear.
