Did you know Vikings Triathlon has a 50/50 split of female and male members? We worked out the numbers for something else this month and were thrilled to learn this fun fact. We have some amazing people in our club and we’re proud of every one of you. Strong women, strong men, stronger together.
Husky, Husky, Husky
A big group of Vikings headed to Husky for what should have been a beautiful weekend, but rain and wind turned the triathlons into duathlons. There were great results anyway, and as Coach Luke pointed out, many members kicked personal goals. Special mention to Noah, who raced the sprint on Saturday and then ran what we believe was his first official half marathon on Sunday.
Meanwhile James took on the five-day Husky Ultra: an ocean swim, a 180 km ride, a rest day, a 70.3 and finally a 63 km run. Absolutely bonkers.
Geelong 70.3
Jacki raced the triathlon and Fi the aquabike. Jacki’s hard training paid off with an incredible 6:16 finish, and Fi’s bike times were astonishing.
T100 Gold Coast
Brian raced the T100 Gold Coast, part of the global professional 100 km series (2 km swim, 80 km ride, 15 km run). He’s a great example of an athlete who goes fast over short races and paces endurance events just as well.
ACT Triathlon Award nominations are open until 19 April. See our members’ Facebook page for tips on writing one.
