Two new coaches join the team

Congratulations to Charlotte and Lauren, who completed the AusTriathlon Foundation Coach course at the AIS. They spent the day planning, delivering and getting feedback on swim, bike and run sessions, met some lovely people, and are really excited to join the Vikings coaching team.

Lauren (aka Madam President) has already been taking Tuesday night swim sets as a coach-in-training. If you’d like to explore coaching yourself, the club supports members to start or progress their coaching qualifications. Have a chat with the committee.

Port Stephens Triathlon

Port Stephens became a duathlon thanks to the seas, and Matt described it as probably the worst conditions he’s ever raced in: constant rain, wind and cold. The sprint started with a tough 2 km beach run and the standard with a brutal 4 km, before a wet and slippery bike.

  • Bec led the way with a podium finish and was 4th female overall.
  • Mel finished 4th in her age group, beating last year’s time.
  • Court finished 7th in her age group, also beating last year’s time.

Goulburn and Red Hill

Lauren, Kelly, David and Rebecca ran the Goulburn Running Festival, and a huge group joined the Sunday coffee run on Red Hill to preview the next Sri Chinmoy trail course, teaming up with Queanbeyan Runners.
