Challenge Canberra 2025: Vikings in force

A huge thank you to Corey Bacon for organising Challenge Canberra on Lake Burley Griffin. He dealt with all the last-minute changes and hassles thrown at him and still delivered an incredible event on home soil.

The Vikings turned out in force: we counted more than 20 club members racing, more than 20 volunteering and four race officials. Support like that encourages Challenge and other multisport events to keep coming back to the ACT.

Rebecca takes the tape

Rebecca was first female in the super sprint, taking the finishing ribbon! She has gone from strength to strength since joining the Novice Program in 2024, and smashed her target of 45 minutes to bring home the win.

Stromlo Running Festival

The same weekend, a couple of our novices and several other members, including Claire, Graeme and Narelle, ran at the Stromlo Running Festival. Graeme smashed out the 30 km, and there were some awesome times in the 15 km too.
