Rod Harrod was recognised at Parliament House by the Member for Bean, David Smith MP, for his “contribution to their local community and tireless volunteer work as a general committee member and Triathlon ACT representative at the Tuggeranong Vikings Triathlon Club”.
When we shared the news in the members’ Facebook group, everyone had something nice to say about Rod. He’s an absolute triathlon legend and this is so well deserved. Congratulations Rod!
A huge week of endurance
- Ultra-Trail Kosci: Gary completed the 100 km, earning three UTMB running stones and finishing 5th in his age group despite the weather closing in on the mountain. The day before, Alex and James finished the 50 km.
- National Capital Swim: just three days after his 50 km at Kosci, James Carter swam the full 10 km and finished 4th male overall.
- Spartan Stadion: Adrian and Ky completed the 5 km stadium race in Wollongong.
- Rutherglen: novice Rachel tried out the new women’s triathlon run by the Border Triathlon squad, a reverse-order race that started with the run.
Sunday was busy too, with a group coffee run, a novice bike session with Coach Luke and an open water swim with Corey. The weather was unpredictable but the Vikings were not!
